Genetic Full Cancer Risk
A broad hereditary cancer panel examining 113 cancer-associated genes.
Service Description
Our Comprehensive Genetic Cancer Risk Test uses an extensive 113-gene panel to investigate inherited susceptibility to a range of common and rare cancers. Broader testing may be appropriate where there is a complex family history, several different cancer types in a family, or where previous limited testing has not identified an explanation. Who is it for? Individuals diagnosed with cancer, people with a family history of common or rare cancer types, or those with known familial variants that warrant broader investigation after clinical advice. What is tested? 113 genes associated with hereditary cancer susceptibility, including BRCA1, BRCA2, APC, MLH1, MSH2, PTEN and TP53. What is included? Specialist genetic sequencing, a comprehensive report with full clinical interpretation, and a complimentary genetic counsellor appointment to explore the findings and implications for relatives. Laboratory turnaround: approximately 6 weeks. Important: This test cannot detect an existing cancer or identify all inherited cancer risks. Broader panels can produce uncertain findings. Pre-test genetic counselling is recommended.
